About THE LOVEBOX EXPERIENCE

THE LOVEBOX EXPERIENCE grew out of an experiment at AfrikaBurn in the South African desert. Inside the LOVEBOX, two strangers meet face to face. For a brief moment, a space emerges in which listening, openness and genuine human connection take centre stage.

The documentary follows these encounters and the LOVEBOX on its journey beyond AfrikaBurn, exploring what can happen between people when social roles, expectations and everyday transactions temporarily fall away.

THE LOVEBOX EXPERIENCE reviews: critics and audiences reflect on the documentary, its social experiment at AfrikaBurn and the encounters between people who have never met before.

THE LOVEBOX EXPERIENCE combines documentary observation with an unusual experimental setting. The camera remains outside the box while the encounters unfold within it, shifting the focus towards listening, voices and the personal stories of the people taking part.
